Arlington is a city in northern Snohomish County, Washington, part of the Seattle metropolitan area. It is adjacent to Marysville, about 10 miles north of Everett and 40 miles north of Seattle. The city’s population as of 2021 is 20,075. Arlington was incorporated as a city in 1903 and has a mayor-council government with seven city council members. Historically, the area’s economy was based on timber and agriculture, but it has shifted to a service-based economy. The municipal government maintains parks, water, and wastewater utilities while other services are contracted.
