Federal Way is a city in King County, part of the Seattle metropolitan area. With a population of 96,526 residents, it ranks as the fifth-largest city in King County and the tenth-largest in Washington.

Formerly the location of Weyerhaeuser’s headquarters, Federal Way, is now considering transforming the site into a community college. The city is also known for its botanical gardens, the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center, and Celebration Park.

Since the 1990s, Federal Way has been characterized by its semi-urban development, featuring off-street multi-structure apartment complexes and shopping centers.
