Lynden, a city with a population of 16,048, is 15 miles north of Bellingham. It is famous for hosting the well-attended Northwest Washington Fair annually, recognized throughout the state.

Lynden, Washington, was founded in the 1870s by Phoebe Judson and her husband. It’s named after a town in a poem by Thomas Campbell. The city is home to dairy and berry farms and has a strong Dutch influence.
